This is a book for horny guys who like to read books by Anonymous, set in the days before cars and toilets. I always sleep well after my read.In some areas, the quality of the writing is poor, but I'm curious about who the next victim will be for Charlie, this tireless 17-year-old, well-hung stud with a one-track mind. He seems attracted to close relatives. The story describes about every possible position and perversion. No beasts, yet. No one ever gets even a little bit satiated. The author could just as well have said, “Repeat the last paragraph.”
Unfortunately, everyone in this lengthy novel seems to have the same personality. I’d like more distinctive characters. (Maybe that's the author’s point. When it comes to sex, we're all the same.) At any rate, everyone is completely willing to let Charlie have his lascivious way, often giving him delicious encouragement. The descriptions about his first encounters, as to how he sets up his outrageous seductions are sometimes interesting.
Practically every hot encounter has to have all three adjectives "salacious", "lascivious", and "lubricious" in one paragraph. Other good writers never use all three in the same episode since they all mean about the same thing. The females (or partners) rarely moan or say anything during the acts to heighten the excitement. Discussions between sexual bouts are generally about Charlie’s size or fit rather than showing any growth of the emotional connection.
So why do I even give it 3 or 4 stars? Well I'm still reading it and most definitely will finish. I will doubtlessly read it again and again. It's a solid, almost cherished, addition to my gentleman's erotic library.

The Romance of Lust Anonymous 9781520532615 Books Reviews
I bought this looking for something similar to Fannie Hill. This is not as good as Fannie Hill. Comparing this to Fannie Hill is like comparing a cup of sugar to an apple pie. This has a lot of one ingredient hump-and-bump, over and over again.
Fantastic
I am not really sure what made me buy this book, but even though the content was viscerally disturbing, I am glad I finished it. It took me a long time to finish it, because I'd have to stop reading it and go back to it over time several times. It is really about a LOT of incestuous sex...sex just for the sake of having it, and with whomever the author could find to have sex with him. No matter the relationship, age, gender or location of the partner(s), this person enjoyed it. The grab for me is that I never really knew that this type of mentality existed, and I found it fascinating that not only did the author have a certain philosophy that found his passions acceptable, but he obviously moved in circles where others shared his perspective. This book is very, very graphic, and some of the content can make one a little physically ill, but it was fascinating that anybody could actually think the way this anonymous author did. I can see why he would want to be anonymous after reading this book. I wouldn't really recommend this book to a general audience, but would recommend it to people who study abnormal psychology. It is definitely not for the faint of heart.
A wonderful story about a secret society of bisexual sex worship, complete with many positive accounts of sodomy and (the always popular) incest. I plan to read it again and highlight many inspirational phrases. It merely scratches the surface of sacred sex, but it is a good start.
Victorian erotica at its best
I liked everything about it the least. One chapter was enough for me to delete the book. No wonder it is by "anonymous". A book can be erotic without being pure porn trash.
I like this type of highly descriptive narrative. The writer, Charlie, pens this in his old age and has a phenominal memory. He desribes his amorous bouts with several women, from his governess, to his relatives --sisters, aunt, etc. Since this is a Victorian book, all the woman are well endowed and hairy. This is in contrast to today's stories where women have bald genitals. Clearly erotic, it's meant to leave the reader wanting more. Charlie, by the way, has a montrous penis, which no healthy woman could resist. The only negative pages are not numbered, and the font is small.
